"Turkish Cypriots to protest EU’s failure to keep its promises
'Embargoed,' a Turkish Cypriot human rights group based in Britain, is set hold a protest of the European Union's failure to keep its promises to end the isolation of Turkish Cyprus.
Ipek Ozerim, an official from Embargoed, announced yesterday that the name of the April 26 rally in Brussels will be 'Gagged,' set to coincide with the second anniversary of the promises given by the EU.
'Besides not lifting restrictions imposed on the Turkish Cypriots, the EU displayed an unbalanced stance by considering Greek Cypriots as the single authority on the island. This also hampers the efforts of the United Nations to find a solution to the Cyprus problem on the basis of the equality of both sides,' Ozerim said. "
