The Southeastern Anatolia Project used to be at the top of the public agenda. I remember how we visited Atatürk Dam every time we traveled in the Southeast, with officials briefing us in detail about the project. Newspapers were full of articles, studies and interviews about GAP, which was called the most important development project of Turkey. "
