Surging energy demand in Turkey saw electricity production reach a new record high of 245 TWh last year, following a 78% rise over the past decade, data from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Company (TEİAŞ) shows. “Turkey has doubled its electricity consumption since 2002. We will nearly double our electricity consumption to 450 TWh by 2023,” the Turkish Energy Minister, Taner Yıldız said.
