According to official records, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's wealth increased tenfold in 10 years.
On July 10, 2001, Erdoğan applied to Ankara Seventh Penal Court of First Instance to declare his assets for the first time and his total wealth was declared to be TL 430,000. By 2011, the prime minister's net worth had risen to TL 4 million.
