Turkey-North Cyprus gas deal set to escalate tensions

(Reuters) - Turkey signed a deal with the breakaway Turkish Cypriot state on Wednesday to pave the way for offshore gas exploration in a move set to escalate regional tensions over Mediterranean energy reserves.
