Past experience in Israel shows previous investigative commissions to have led to resignations in the government and in the army. It remains to be seen if the flotilla commission will lead to such a result, but a change in government in Israel may serve Turkish interest in accomplishing regional peace. A senior Turkish official, however, says the commission established by Israel will likely fall short of fulfilling Ankara's expectations regardless of its outcome"
