"Cyprus to keep Turkey's EU entry talks frozen

Cyprus raised the stakes Wednesday in an offshore oil and gas exploration dispute with Turkey, saying the issue would further impede its regional rival's effort to join the European Union.
Government spokesman Stefanos Stefanou said Cyprus would keep the section of the EU negotiations concerning energy frozen indefinitely because the Turkish navy had harassed ships participating in a Cypriot offshore fossil fuel survey."
