UN Secretary-General's Special Adviser on Cyprus Alexander Downer has said that he is cautiously optimistic about the outcome of ongoing negotiations on the Cyprus problem, adding that the important thing is to keep the momentum of the negotiations going.
In statements after a meeting with Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyiannis, Downer said that the leaders of the two communities, who have been engaged in UN-led negotiations since September 2008, 'don't think they want to be stuck with a specific timetable.'"
