HERE IN London, UK politicians, the mainstream media and the wider British public often perceive, rightly or wrongly, that the Cyprus issue is simply a dispute between a pair of usual suspects: the ‘Greek Cypriots’ and the ‘Turkish Cypriots’.

However, internal divisions within these two main groupings combined with commonalities across them, are an often overlooked and perhaps equally significant aspect. Gender, age, generation, level of education and assimilation, social standing and political persuasion are elements of any ethnic community’s diversity and multi-faceted character. UK Cypriots are no exception."
