The Turkish (Turks of Turkey) come from the Oghuz branch of the Turkic peoples. The Oghuz is also called the Southwestern branch because most Oghuz peoples (Turkmen, Iraqi Turkmen….) live west of the Altai Mountains. Most Turkish people live in Turkey but others live in Western Europe like Germany and America. Many Turks came to Turkey during the Seljek and the Ottoman empire."
