"UN troops get Cyprus extension

The United Nations Security Council yesterday unanimously ratified the renewal of the UNFICYP’s mandate on the island.
UNFICYP’s mandate has been extended until the June 15 2009.
Among other things, the adopted resolution welcomed the launch of fully fledged negotiations on September 3 and the prospect of a comprehensive and durable settlement it had created, and urged full exploitation of that opportunity, preserving the current atmosphere of trust and goodwill."
