ROME, Nov. 6 — Italy strongly supports Turkey's bid for membership in the European Union because it would help strengthen the continent's relations with other nations, Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini said on Wednesday.
Speaking to the Italy-Turkey Forum held in Rome, Frattini said the Italian parliament would take a 'clear stance' on the issue when the time comes."
