"Turkish forest fires coming under control

Turkish fire-fighters have almost succeeded in bringing the forest fires in the coastal province of Antalya under control. The fires have killed at least one person, burned down 60 houses and destroyed 10,000 hectares of a nature reserve. The Turkish authorities have arranged emergency accommodation for villagers forced to flee their homes. Despite the ferocity of the blaze, tourists on the local beaches have been unaffected by the flames."
