ISTANBUL, Turkey – I dig my spoon into a bowl of asure, a puddinglike dessert speckled with raisins, nuts, chickpeas and sesame seeds.
'They say asure was invented on Noah's ark,' my guide, Baris, says. 'They mixed together everything they had on board.'"
