Petrobras commenced its operations in Turkey in February 2006, when it won two of the three blocks offered in the bidding process for deep water exploration and production in the Black Sea promoted by Turkey's national oil company Turkiye Petrolleri Anonim Ortakligi - (TPAO).
Petrobras and TPAO will soon start negotiating the entire pertinent contractual documentation to ensure the Brazilian Company's 50% participation in the exploration and production of blocks 3920 (Kirklareli) and 3922 (Sinop)."
