"‘EU can understand Turkey’s concerns over safety of citizens’

The European Commission said Friday it can understand Turkey's concerns over safety of its citizens.
However, it expects Turkey to refrain from excessive use of force and respect international law and human rights in its fight against terrorism, Christina Nagy, spokesperson for European Commissioner for enlargement Olli Rehn, said when commenting on Turkey's ground operation into north of Iraq."
