The ambassador of Turkey and Mrs Engin Soysal hosted a dinner which was somewhat different than the usual. It is evident from their activities in this area that the Soysals are very keen on culture in its many forms, so the guest list included people involved with cultural affairs, especially artists. Diplomats who attended the dinner included Ambassador Anne Patterson of the United States; Willem Andreae of The Netherlands and his spouse Christine; the Ambassador of Syria and Mrs Riad Ismet and Ambassador Alexandr Langer of the Czech Republic and his very active wife Viera. The Soysal’s attractive daughter, who is here on a visit, was also present."
