Istanbul, 11 April (AKI) - Amid growing tensions between Turkey and Iraq's autonomous Kurdistan region, a Turkish daily on Tuesday claimed that Kurdistan president Masoud Barzani bribed Iraq's former justice minister to have ethnic Arabs evacuated from Kirkuk an oil-rich province whose incorporation into Kurdistan Ankara opposes. Mass daily Hurriyet said in its report that Barzani paid former Iraqi justice minister Hashim Al-Shibli to order Arabs to leave Kirkuk in exchange for some sort of financial compensation."
