AMSTERDAM – The Labour party (PvdA) wants Foreign Affairs Minister Maxime Verhagen to urge Turkish authorities to exempt Turkish Dutch nationals living in the Netherlands of mandatory military service in Turkey.
PvdA MP Angelien Eijsink said on the current affairs programme Netwerk on Monday that this is most urgent in the case of Turkish Dutch who work for the defence department or the police force."
