It was a few months ago that we had said in an editorial that Turkey could overcome the Greek Cypriot offensive in the European Union by saying Ankara could allow the Greek Cypriot ships and aircraft to use one airport and one port for a trial period and thus partially meet its obligations to Brussels. Turkey could say it is doing this as a good will gesture and that it now expects the EU to lift the isolation of the Turkish Cypriots. If the EU keeps its promises in lifting the isolation then Turkey can open all its ports to Greek Cypriot aircraft and ships."
