Pope Benedict's visit to Turkey last week did not deteriorate into violence, and he can take some credit for that.
The Pope exhibited gracious restraint and respect during his visit, which will go a long way toward healing the rift he created last September when he repeated an ancient quote that Islam is 'evil' and 'violent.'
