"Rehn opposes setting of deadline
The European Commission expressed opposition on Tuesday to plans by Germany and France to set a deadline for Turkey to open its ports to the Greek Cypriots.
Experience shows that when it comes to Turkey's dealings with Cyprus, 'strict deadlines don't produce results,' the spokesperson for European Union Enlargement Chief Olli Rehn, Krisztina Nagy told reporters. Underlining the complexity of the Cyprus problem and the 'strategic importance' of Turkey's accession process, Nagy said that there was a need for the EU to find a 'balanced solution.'"
