Many athletes and coaches of different nationalities have obtained Turkish citizenship and are now competing and working for Turkey's success.
Brazilian-born Fenerbahce's attacking midfielder Mehmet (Marco) Aurelio is one of the latest to acquire Turkish nationality. Aurelio, who became a Turkish citizen in July, was called to the national team squad by coach Fatih Terim and made his debut for Turkey against Luxemburg. "
