"Turkish premier defends decision to send soldiers to Lebanon

ANKARA, Turkey Turkey's premier defended his Cabinet's decision to send peacekeepers to Lebanon in a televised speech Thursday, warning that "if we shut our doors, we can't escape the flames that are surrounding us."
There is significant opposition in Turkey to sending peacekeepers to Lebanon, and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan devoted most of his monthly address to the nation to the subject."
