"Vodafone not allowed to operate in Turkish occupied Cyprus

Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (CYTA) has said its agreement with Vodafone forbids the British telecommunications company to operate in Cyprus’ Turkish occupied areas. Turkish telecommunications firm Telsim, which has an affiliated company in the northern occupied part of Cyprus, has been bought by British Vodafone, which also has a trade agreement with CYTA. The take-over has sparked off reaction in Cyprus’ government controlled areas."
