With Finland taking over the European Union's term presidency, the EU has mounted its pressure on Turkey to open its airports and harbors to Greek Cypriots before the end of this year. However, the Turkish government also made it much clearer that it will not do so, unless the EU takes the first step to ease isolation of Turkish Cypriots, sparking headline stories in Europe and Turkey forecasting a major 'train crash' at the end of this year."
