I hope every foreigner assigned to Turkey makes it a point to visit the Egyptian Market in the Eminönü district of Istanbul. I was there the other day and I'd like to share my experiences with you.
As you enter the Mısır Çarşısı, on the left is a flight of stairs that leads you to an excellent and unique restaurant called Pandelli, where you can taste truly Turkish cuisine. You must try the sour cherry and bread dessert as the chef here does a wondrous job on this dish. It is even better than the one my mother used to make."
