Forbes magazine this week released its annual list of the world's richest people, including 21 Turks with fortunes estimated at $1 billion or greater.
The magazine cited the surge in emerging stock markets during the past year, with the number of billionaires around the world rising by 102 to a record 793.
Forbes magazine's 2006 rankings reported the combined wealth of the world's billionaires grew 18 percent to $2.6 trillion (2.18 trillion euro)."
