"Straw says Cyprus communities must demonstrate courage

British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw said that only when Turkey, Greece and Cyprus recognise that their mutual interests are stronger than their historic antagonisms will there be a settlement of the island's longstanding political problem.
Straw is planning to visit Cyprus before the end of January but a row with Greek Cypriots over meeting the Turkish Cypriot community leader may lead Straw to cancel a visit that was meant to build bridges and explore possiblities for a new round of negotiations."
