"Turkey Gets USA And Sunnis of Iraq Together
Iraqi Islamic Party’s Secretary General Al-Hashimi and US Baghdat Ambassador Khalilzad came together at Iraq Summit in Istanbul. The participation of Sunnis in the elections were discussed in the meeting which was maintained secretly.
The American authoritatives and the Iraqian Sunnis except the groups which are the supporters of Saddam and did not participate in the elections, came together in İstanbul with the support of Turkey as the host country. The most important subject of the agenda was the participation of Sunni groups in the elections in December. US represantatives met four Sunni Arab groups in the summit to get the support of Iraq people. USA Ambassador of Iraq Khalilzad
attended yesterday to the meetings which were kept secret by the participants. Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul, US Ambassodor of Iraq and as the represantative of four groups Iraqi Islamic Party’s Secretary General Al-Hashimi gave a brief information about the meetings yesterday in Conrad Hotel İstanbul.
