A news story in the American newspaper, Washington Times, earlier this week provoked a harsh reaction from the Turkish government.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan was warned by some military officials for his words that the Ulama (a group of Muslim scholars) ought to be consulted about the headscarf issue, the newspaper claimed in its story that Ankara accused of being a 'defective libel'."
