"Turkey Prepares 'List of Promises' for Security Council

Became a temporary member in United Nations Security Council three times during the period of 1951-61, Turkey has remained out of the Council for 44 years.
Ankara will intensify its lobbying activities for membership for the term 2009-2010 at the UN summit that will gather world leaders together in New York.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry, armed with a brochure prepared regarding the issue, will contribute to these activities by pointing out Turkey's entrepreneurial key role."
