"Mittal Steel cleared for Turkey

JULY 15 : Turkey's asset sales agency named Mittal Steel Co., the world's biggest steelmaker, as one of 13 companies allowed to bid for Eregli Demir & Celik AS when the country sells its largest steel producer later this year.

All 13 companies or groups of companies that registered an interest in bidding for Erdemir, as the steelmaker is known, before yesterday's deadline were approved as suitable bidders, the agency said today in Ankara, the Turkish capital."
