When Minnesotans think of Germany, many still think of bratwurst and oompah bands.
So do many Germans.
And that's a problem.
Muslims now have the role in Germany once held by Jews, says Abdul Weiss, a Syrian-born microbiologist active in Goettingen's Muslim community.
'Wir sind jetzt der Schwartze Peter ' -- we [Muslims] are the scapegoats. Irene Runge, head of Berlin's Jewish Cultural Association, doesn't disagree."
