Turkey's top scientific institution is being reorganized

The long-neglected Science and Technical Research Council of Turkey (T�BITAK) is undergoing a process of transformation to turn it into a force to boost Turkish science. The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), soon after awarding the council its biggest budget ever, has passed a bill through Parliament's General Assembly to free it from the administrative deadlock it has been suffering for decades.
