Discussions about a 'privileged partnership' for Turkey with the European Union gained new momentum last week. Retired Ambassador Gunduz Aktan, head of the Eurasian Studies Center, added fuel to the fire when he opened the debate in his column in Turkish daily Radikal. The others followed with their views on how and why a special partnership would be either good or not good for Turkey's interests and its relations with the EU. "
