The question is an important one. Is France still an ally of Turkey? Is France a friend or otherwise? The question must be properly addressed, probably best by reversing the question. Is Turkey not being presented and seen as an adversary of France in the views put forward by French politicians like Sarkozy, Bayrou, de Villier, etc. so as to alienate the French public against Turkey rather than show it as a future European Union partner? "
