"Candidates for Presidency of Turkish Cyprus Announced

Candidates for the presidential elections in the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus (TRNC) scheduled for 17 April have been announced today.
According to the timetable presidency elections timetable, the Supreme Election Court (YSK) will officially announce the candidates tomorrow. Nine candidates have been selected for the election in which outgoing TRNC President Rauf Denktas will not participate.
The candidates include Mehmet Ali Talat, Dervis Eroglu, Mustafa Arabacioglu, Huseyin Angolemli, Nuri Cevikel, Zehra Cengiz, and independent candidates Zeki Besiktepeli, Arif Salih Kirdag and Ayhan Kaymak.
The campaign for the presidential elections starts on 22 March. "
