"Turkey's talks for EU entry

DEAR readers, it is appreciable that EU has decided to begin accession talks with Ankara, even though it would not be many years before a final word is given either way. This is widely seen as a historic and landmark decision, though the way is still not fully clear for Ankara.
The talks are set to start a year hence, pass through a laborious process lasting some 10 or more years, and reach a conclusion that could either be in favour of Turkey, or against. The talks are �open-ended� and hence there is no clarity yet about the final outcome. The suspense will be ongoing for many years."
