"Turkish delight, but EU sceptics abound

Turks have hailed the deal with the European Union on opening entry talks as an historic victory, but sceptical EU members said it was just the start of years of bickering that could end in misery.
'A new world', said the banner headline of Saturday's Aksam newspaper against a backcloth of Turkish and EU flags. The EU, by opening its doors to Muslim Turkey, had laid the foundations for 'peace between civilisations', it said.
'We succeeded', declared the top-selling Hurriyet, above a photograph of the EU leaders with Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan."
