US concern over Turkey's EU dairy standard decision

The decision by Turkey to adopt EU import and export standards could close the market to US butter and provide opportunities for rival exporters.
This year, US traders closed an import gap left by EU suppliers, with record shipments in September and October. Now this trade advance, which saw Turkish butter imports from the US grow from a few hundred tonnes to over 1 000t in each of these months, is under threat, reports Agra Europe's sister title Dairy Markets.
