I agree with the views expressed by Harun Yahya in his article “Unwarranted brouhaha” (Jan. 8). I am also of the opinion that the world media has blown the entire issue out of proportion. Such scandals and the subsequent actions are a routine thing across the globe. One fails to understand as to why political pundits have started predicting the downfall of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Teyyip Erdogan and his party. It is not as simple as A, B, C. This media uproar is not a new thing. I vividly remember the days of Gezi protests. Political “experts” were quick to declare it the beginning of a Turkish Spring. Even at that point Erdogan’s “highhandedness” was criticized. I believe the world media should not sensationalize internal issues of a country and act in a responsible manner.
