Turkish author dishes up recipes

South Lyon resident Cansu Mercan Tucker’s cookbook, My Mother’s Kitchen, blends two parts Turkish recipes with one part love story with a dash of history.
“The focus was for the person who doesn’t know how to cook, so they could open the book and say, ‘I can do that,’” Cansu said, adding that it took 30 months to test recipes and compile vivid, mouth watering pictures taken by her brother, Celil Mercan during multiple trips she made to Turkey.
