Turkey’s Failed Middle East Policy

The kidnapping of two Turkish pilots in Lebanon on Aug. 9 is the newest link in a chain of troubles Ankara has been having with its Middle East policy. It is not possible to isolate this latest incident from problems we have been having from Syria to Egypt, and from Iraq to Somalia. This aggression against two Turkish Airlines pilots is but one aspect of the bleak outlook resulting from the government’s regional policies.
