MEPs are debating the current situation in Turkey, with the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Baroness Ashton.
Taksim Square, the focus of days of protests in Istanbul, is now largely clear, after Turkish riot police dispersed anti-government protestors overnight.
The country's Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has said there will be no tolerance of people he accuses of seeking to harm Turkey.
