Ergenekon coup trial political, targets Turkish Republic’s values, suspects say

The suspects in the alleged Ergenekon coup-plot case have rejected the prosecutor’s demand of aggravated life imprisonment for dozens in the trial, including retired and active generals, journalists and other military officers, declaring the probe to be political.
