Turkey’s ostentatious symbolism

The indictment by a Turkish court this week of four Israeli military commanders for their involvement in the 2010 killing of nine Turkish activists aboard the Gaza-bound blockade-runner, the Mavi Marmara, is, on the face of it, an act of ostentatious symbolism.
Unless the four officers actually travel to Turkey, there is little chance that they will ever be arrested or tried, and the odds of Israel actually extraditing the men to Turkey are smaller than slim.
