Turkey produced 16 million barrels of crude oil in 2011

Mr Taner Yıldız energy and natural resources minister of Turkey has announced that Turkey produced 16 million barrels of crude oil and 793 million cubic meters of natural gas in 2011.
Mr Yıldız stated that although Turkey's crude oil and natural gas production vary from year to year, domestic production accounted for 7% to 9% of oil consumption and 2% of natural gas consumption.
