Should Nicolas Sarkozy lose the French presidential election, Turkey's European Union application could be pushed forward, some analysts say, reports the National.
Sarkozy, who has been openly against Turkey's EU accession, lost the first round of the presidential election to Francois Hollande on Sunday. The winner of the elections will be announced on May 6.
