Turkey Faces in All Directions

Regarding the news article “Turkey faces east, its back to E.U.” (Dec. 5): At last the outlandish idea of Turkey joining the European Union seems to be moving toward the exit for obvious political, economic, cultural and geographic reasons. But your “Turkey-faces-east” headline is misleading.
